RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Universal Care RN position with rotating every other Saturday required - no Sunday shifts
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• BSN required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Valid California RN license required
• Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census ranges from 8 to 20 patients
• Care for patients with cardiac, GI, respiratory, and fall-related diagnoses, including observation or admission holds in overflow area
• Perform skills including cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, central line care and management, blood product administration, accessing and managing ports, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration, PICC line management, wound care and wound vac, PCA management, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and radiology
• Write initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individualized care plans
• Coordinate and delegate patient care assignments to support personnel
• Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and modify as needed based on patient outcomes
• Assist physicians with patient exams and special procedures
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and staff meetings
• May serve as relief Charge Nurse as assigned
• May be required to float to units within the Emergency Services Division
