Telemetry RN Job in San Luis Obispo, CA

French Hospital Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for their Telemetry unit in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Every other weekend required; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• First to float on alternate weekends
• Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff

The Role

You will work in an acute care Telemetry setting across two units: the 300 unit (14 beds) and the main unit (44 beds). Patient ratios are 1 to 4. You will float between both units and are not required to assume charge nurse responsibilities.

The 300 unit cares for surgical, orthopedic, and medical patients. The main unit focuses on cardiac-acuity and step-down patients, including post-catheterization, post-pacemaker, post-PCI, TAVR day 1 or greater, CABG day 1 or greater, sepsis, and respiratory distress.

Clinical Expectations

• Telemetry monitoring via Philips system with monitor tech available; you will read strips
• Common drips: amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, fixed-rate insulin, nitro, and dopamine (renal dosing only)
• Patients may be on BiPAP or CPAP; no mechanical ventilation
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Charting on Cerner EMR

Support & Resources

• Six hours of floor-specific orientation
• Nurse aides: one on night shift, one on mid shift, 3–4 on day shift

Requirements

• Valid California RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• BSN not required

Compensation

$2,410.56 per week.
