Telemetry RN Job in Redding, CA

You are a Registered Nurse with experience in telemetry nursing, ready to join Mercy Medical Center Redding for a 91-day travel assignment. This role offers you the opportunity to provide specialized care on a 22-bed telemetry neuro unit while working a schedule that supports your work-life balance.

Position Details

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with four weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:3–4 on the telemetry unit
• Self-scheduling available by seniority; schedules posted 3 weeks in advance
• No on-call or standby requirements

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with stroke, TIA, seizure, traumatic brain injury, and mixed medical telemetry conditions
• Manage titratable drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and DKA protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; pass facility dysrhythmia exam
• Operate respiratory equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Float to IMCU (2West) or Med/Surg departments as needed
• Use Cerner EMR for documentation
• Focus on bedside shift reports, patient experience, HCAHPS, and stroke core measures

Requirements

• Current RN license
• 2–3 years telemetry experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome
• Current ACLS, BLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• COVID vaccination required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
