Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours offered per week
• 13-week contracts accepted
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Every third weekend required (8 weekend shifts for 13-week contracts)
• On-call required during low census days if sent home from a scheduled shift
• Float requirement as needed
• Self-scheduling unit
• Orientation is 24-36 hours; hospital orientation during week one with required daily class attendance
• Scrubs: Navy blue required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry unit monitoring, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs, CVA management, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills: IV insulin protocols, Heparin, Insulin management, Cardiac drip management (no titration), BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Wound Care/Wound Vac, community hospital experience
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, Diabetes, Infectious Diseases, Rehab, typical Med/Surg, and Telemetry
• Unit systems include Manual Dispense Carts, Paper charting, and SBAR communication
• Average daily census of 8 with 12 total beds
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
