Med Surg RN Float Pool Job in Joplin, MO

Mercy Hospital Joplin is seeking a registered nurse for a travel assignment in our acute care Med Surg float pool. You'll work day shifts on a 3x12 schedule, with 36 guaranteed hours per week and weekend call as required by the facility.

Role Overview

As a Med Surg float pool RN, you'll be assigned throughout the facility based on daily census and patient needs. Your responsibilities include:

• Caring for post-cardiac surgery, cardiac, and general medical patients
• Managing a 1:5 patient ratio
• Acting as charge nurse when one is unavailable
• Floating to different units as assigned
• Charting in EPIC

What We're Looking For

You'll need a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and current BLS and NRP certifications. Telemetry experience is preferred. You should demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, and be comfortable working across a variety of clinical settings and patient populations.

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026. You'll wear black scrubs and work within the hospital's standard call and weekend requirements. The position requires flexibility and a willingness to meet patient care needs wherever you're assigned.
