PCU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Join Methodist Hospital's Progressive Care Unit as a Registered Nurse on a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work the night shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), three days per week, providing direct patient care in a 29-bed Telemetry/PCU Cardiac Unit.

Your Role

You will deliver nursing care to patients with complex cardiac and progressive care needs. Your responsibilities include:

• Monitor patients using telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry equipment
• Perform blood transfusions, IV starts, and midline or central line removals
• Conduct respiratory and cardiac assessments
• Provide care to a high fall-risk patient population
• Float to med-surg, telemetry, PCU, and ED holds as needed

Unit Structure

Night shift staffing consists of one charge nurse, two patient care technicians, and seven RNs. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 or 1:5. Weekend availability is required.

Requirements and Preferences

You must hold current ACLS and BLS certifications. Telemetry experience is required. The unit uses Meditech EMR. Experience with NIH Stroke preparation, PALS, ICU, telemetry, and PCU is preferred but not required.

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day contract beginning September 22, 2026. You will earn $1,674 per week. The facility requires navy blue scrubs.
