RN - Stepdown Inpatient

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour shifts with available shift times of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend nights position covering Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or 2 weekends per 4-week schedule required
• Holiday requirement - will work into the permanent staff holiday schedule as needed
• Floating to like units (floor/stepdown) is required
• 30-bed unit with 12 floor beds and 18 stepdown beds
• Patient ratios of 1:6 for floor patients (med-surg) and 1:3 for stepdown patients
• Care for complex patient populations including multi-trauma, TBI, fractures, general surgery, bariatric surgery, and other typical med-surg patients
• Must have experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, traumatic injuries, chest tubes, respiratory support, TBIs, and complex spinal cord injuries
• Administer and manage drips including Heparin and PCAs on floor; Insulin, Cardizem, and other non-pressors on stepdown
• Must be able to read and validate telemetry monitor strips
• Work collaboratively with care management, surgical and medical services, rehabilitation services, and perioperative services
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with stable/chronic vents only
• Free charge nurse available 24/7 with house supervisor support
• Clinical associates available with a ratio of 4 when fully staffed
• Must have Epic experience and Level 1 Trauma experience
• Must have 1:6 ratio experience

• Required certifications: BLS
