Med Surg RN Job in Chattanooga, TN

Join Parkridge East Hospital as a Medical Surgical RN on a 30-bed unit. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care with a 1:6 patient ratio, supported by 2–3 technicians per shift, a clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director. You'll float between 2 North and 2 West units as needed. Block scheduling is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts, nasogastric tube placement, and wound care
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and maintain telemetry monitoring
• Draw labs and initiate IV therapy on unit
• Manage specialized equipment including wound vacs, heparin drips, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, and feeding pumps
• Document patient information using the Editech system
• Maintain a positive attitude, meet patient and family needs, perform service recovery as needed, and escalate issues appropriately through the chain of command

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Proficiency with medical equipment and electronic documentation systems

Additional Information

You must wear navy scrubs only; fleece and sweatshirts are not permitted. Weekly pay is $1,786.
