ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Variable shift schedule including 1:00 PM–1:00 AM, 4:00 PM–4:00 AM, and/or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with 2–3 weekends per month
• Patient ratio of 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends
• 3 years of experience required
• California RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or ARC only)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Skills required include triage, IV placement and maintenance, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, phlebotomy, and management of behavioral/mental health conditions
• Experience with high-acuity diagnoses including CVA, seizures, spinal cord injury, head injury, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, sickle cell crisis, and near drowning
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services
