PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You will work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling with 4-week schedules
• $1,786 weekly pay

Patient Care and Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Hourly rounding on days, every 2-hour rounding on nights
• AIDET protocols in place
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors
• Black scrubs required

Required Clinical Skills and Certifications

• BLS and ACLS certification
• EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip management
• Peripheral IV insertion
• Critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feeding and NG/Dobhoff tube management
• Experience with BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems

Preferred Experience

• Peritoneal dialysis

• BiPAPs, high-flow O₂, Vapotherm
• Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips
• Peritoneal dialysis machines
• Wound vacs
• Meditech documentation system

Procedures Performed

• Peritoneal dialysis
• Thoracentesis and paracentesis
• Chest tube insertions
• NG and Dobhoff tube insertions
• Central line dressing changes
• Wound vac troubleshooting
