Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position available
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on a 12-bed Med Surg/Tele unit
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Perform nurse-driven Heparin infusions, insulin drips via Glucomander, telemetry monitoring, nurse-driven flu vaccination, and CAPD
• Operate specialized equipment including lift equipment, HOVER mats, chest tubes, trachs, PCA pumps, bladder scanner, and wound vacs
• Required skills include: chest tubes, Heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, MS/Tele, PCA, renal failure, telemetry, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care/management, and wound care/wound vac
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Travelers must float before full-time staff within scope of practice as needed
• Required certification: BLS
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• BSN preferred
