Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call required
• Self-scheduling unit with no block scheduling option
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Floating within the hospital within scope is required based on hospital needs
• 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required with recent experience in the specialty
• First-time travelers accepted with recent specialty experience
• Local candidates accepted
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests permitted per contract
• Every other winter and summer holiday are required with no RTO approved on those days
• No RTO on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, Prophecy Relias Basic EKG assessment, and 4 hours of annual stroke CEs
• Preferred certifications: ACLS
• Charting system: Cerner (required)
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Blood product administration experience required
• Peripheral line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Heparin protocol experience required
• Surgical drain management required
• Chest tube management with Emerson/Pleur-Evac required
• Non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care required
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound/wound vac care required
• Serves adult and geriatric patients admitted from the Emergency Department
• Average daily census of approximately 40 patients on a 40-bed unit
