MRI Technologist Job in Pittsburgh, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 91-day travel assignment at Southwest - UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore in Pittsburgh, PA. You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week at a weekly rate of $2,963, with a start date of September 6, 2026.

Your Role

You will independently perform MRI imaging procedures, applying clinical judgment and initiative to deliver diagnostic-quality images. Your responsibilities include reviewing patient history, assessing physician orders, and applying departmental protocols to optimize data acquisition. You'll administer contrast media, including labeling, preparation, and documentation in the electronic health record. Patient safety and communication are central to your work—you'll identify all patients using two identifiers, follow universal protocol, and communicate instructions clearly to allay patient concerns and secure cooperation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform independent MRI imaging procedures for diagnostic purposes
• Maintain and practice MR safety standards throughout the department
• Review, process, and archive imaging data according to protocol
• Assess patient history and physician orders for optimal exam configuration
• Administer and document contrast media administration
• Ensure proper patient identification and universal protocol compliance
• Code, track, and route all exams for archiving and interpretation
• Maintain current clinical competency across all exams and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience
• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry
• Current ARRT, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
