ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract period
• One pre-approved time-off request is permitted per contract and must be included in the contract and reviewed with the manager
• Block scheduling is not available
• Float within scope to support two rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs
• Support two locked Behavioral Health units in the ED with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Patient ratio experience of 1:4-6 required
• Treat neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Precepting and training experience is preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education units required
• CEN certification preferred
• Charting system: Cerner with FirstNet and Launch
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, triage, phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
