Med Surg RN Job in Casper, WY

Wyoming Medical Center Central in Casper is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med Surg unit. This is a travel nursing position lasting 89 days, beginning August 3, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients according to organizational policies and professional nursing standards. Your duties include performing comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs, as well as discharge planning.

You will review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers. You will formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including discharge planning. You will delegate and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed health care team members, evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, and revise care plans as needed.

Documentation of assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation must be accurate and timely in the patient record. You will participate in unit or facility shared leadership and support education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Wyoming
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg specialty
• Wyoming DFS certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
