PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be floated between all campuses as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Must have experience with PCU patient ratios of 1:5
• Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
• Peripheral line care and management, PICC line management required
• Must be able to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, tracheostomy care, wound care, and PCA management
• Unit serves adult patients with diagnoses including stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders
• 34-bed General Medical Progressive Care Unit with all telemetry-monitored beds providing cardiac surveillance
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Self-scheduling with a daily census of 30 and 35 total beds
