Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 44-bed Medical-Surgical acute care unit in Albany, Georgia. You'll work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 3x12 schedule, with every other weekend required. This is a 119-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Med Surg acute care unit with a patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6 on both day and night shifts
• Float to other acute care areas, cardiology for medical patients, and the ED for acute care patient holds as needed
• Work with CNA support available at approximately 1:8 to 1:10 ratio; CNAs may also serve as sitters
• Use Meditech for charting (experience preferred but not required)

Shift Details

• Day shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend worked
• Holidays worked as needed
• Telemetry is monitored on a separate unit

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (AHA) certifications required
• Must reside within a strict 75-mile radius from the hospital (verified by driver's license address)
• BSN not required
