Emergency Room RN Job in Laurium, MI

Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room in Laurium, Michigan. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026.

Position Details

• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours guaranteed)
• Every 3rd weekend rotation with holidays as needed
• Subject to low census and call-back with 2-hour minimum
• Possible float to Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratio of 1:3 in a 6-bed unit with average daily census of 20 patients

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years emergency room experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Current Michigan RN license
• AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius

Equipment and Systems Experience

Experience preferred with Epic EMR, Pyxis medication management, GE bedside cardiac monitors and telemetry, Alaris Infusion systems, Cisco and Responder 5 communication devices, Maxi Sky patient lifts, and LifePak. Training provided on select equipment.

Clinical Competencies

Desired skills include aseptic practice, patient monitoring (EKG, invasive pressure, B/P, SaO2), post-anesthesia care, drug dose calculation and administration, management of tubes including endotracheal tubes and tracheostomies, mechanical ventilation management, and clinical competency in conscious sedation. You will deliver patient care utilizing critical thinking skills and an integrated knowledge base of interpersonal, physiological, and psychosocial frameworks.

Compensation and Duration

Weekly pay is $2,557. This assignment runs for 91 days.

Dress Code

Scrubs must be neat, clean, well-fitting, wrinkle-free, and conservative. Employee identification tags must be worn at all times while on duty.
