Telemetry RN Job in Columbia, SC

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Telemetry unit at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 27, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,944. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, with every other weekend required.

Role Overview

Your position focuses on Neurology and Stroke care for adult and geriatric patients. You will care for patients with acute embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, and neurosurgical cases including shunt revisions, tumor removals, and craniotomies. Stroke care follows AHA guidelines for Comprehensive Stroke Center designation. Patient ratios are 1:4–5, and you will receive 24-hour orientation.

Required Skills and Experience

• 1 year of recent experience in a telemetry or similar unit
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Active South Carolina or multistate nursing license
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

Clinical Competencies

• IV management: starting, maintaining, accessing ports, and PICC and central line care
• Blood product administration and PCA and heparin protocols
• Respiratory skills: high-flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, and trach management
• Telemetry: remote monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response Team utilization
• Neurological care: CVA care, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, pre/post neurosurgery, continuous bladder irrigation, isolation precautions, surgical drain management, and feeding tube care

Support and Environment

Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. You may occasionally float to other units per hospital needs, limited to areas where you are qualified and have documented competencies.
