PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Rotating shift schedule
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• 3 weekends per six-week schedule required
• 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios; may be 2:1 if acuity is high
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Care for combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care patients including conditions such as DORV, TOF, HLHS, TGA, heart transplant, RSV, DKA, trauma, seizures, and post-operative cases including ortho, neuro, and liver and kidney transplant
• Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Unit maintains high census and high acuity with 25 beds and daily census of 23
• Special equipment includes ECMO, VADs, and CRRT
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• Virginia nursing license required (pending licenses accepted)
• Nursys verification required with submission
• References required
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no additional time off approved after offer acceptance
• Time off not approved during first 2 weeks of contract
