Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 14-bed acute medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. This is a 119-day travel assignment beginning September 7, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,070.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotate shifts with permanent staff
• Shift handoff from 6:45 to 7:15 AM

Clinical Responsibilities

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, dialysis needs, post-surgical overflow, amputations, debridements, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psych conditions
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• CPAP support at night; BiPAP used at night only
• Unit is monitored on a different floor; nurses are not required to read cardiac strips
• CNA support available at a general ratio of 1:12
• Float to acute care, cardiology, and emergency care for acute patient holds as needed
• Primary care nursing model
• Use MEDITECH charting system

Requirements

• Current RN license for the state of Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
• At least 1 prior travel assignment
• Experience at a larger, high-acuity, fast-paced organization; Critical Access Hospital (CAH) experience not accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) and NIHSS required
• ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Must be comfortable with high acuity, high turnover, and fast-paced environments

Facility Policies

• Dress code: Caribbean Blue top and bottom, white top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white top and bottom
• No artificial, shellac, or acrylic nails permitted; polished nails only
• No bags at the nurses station; personal lockers with locks available
• Strict attendance policy in place
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
• 75-mile radius rule applies; traveler address from driver's license required at submission
