Operating Room RN Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health - Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a travel contract basis.

Role Overview

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend shifts are required, typically Friday nights. The facility operates 8 ORs with 2 available overnight to handle urgent and emergent add-on cases. You may float within scope to meet facility needs as required. Block scheduling is available at the manager's discretion, and you may be called off up to 10 hours per two-week period. There are no on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in South Carolina or Compact states
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric setting
• Minimum 2 previous traveler contract experiences
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• First-time travelers are not accepted

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Code response protocols
• Fire safety procedures
• Latex allergy awareness and management
• Malignant hyperthermia recognition and response
• Pediatric general OR procedures

Patient Population

You will care for pediatric and women's surgery patients in a specialized children's hospital setting.

Additional Information

Experience in pediatric and/or women's surgery is preferred. A radiation badge will be provided by the parent company. Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted. This 91-day contract begins September 21, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,043.
