ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced RN for a travel position in the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day assignment beginning August 31, 2026, paying $1,918.44 weekly on a 3x12 nights schedule (2:45 PM–3:15 AM).

About the Role

You will work in a high-volume Emergency Department with 101 beds, managing typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You must be flexible to float across all ED sections, but will not float outside the department. Every other weekend scheduling is required; block scheduling is not available.

Clinical Environment

• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation system
• Support staff: Techs available in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerks on both day and night shifts
• Patient experience standards: AIDET protocols, respectful behavior standards, and active patient board updates
• Uniform requirement: Navy scrubs

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Prior experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) is preferred
• Required certifications at hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of start date
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
