ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 36/48 hour alternating schedule with 84 hours guaranteed biweekly
• Weekend coverage required
• Block scheduling type
• Support both the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit (CDU); CDU is run by ED provider with stable, independent patients at ratios up to 5:1
• Daily census of 190 patients across 62 rooms
• Patient population includes neonates through adults
• 3 years of experience preferred; minimum 2 years accepted if traveler has worked in a high volume or trauma facility
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Must be proficient in a broad range of emergency nursing skills including arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, chest tube management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, IV vasopressors, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, 12-lead EKG/ECG, procedural sedation, triage, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and splint application
• Experience with trauma, neuro-trauma, stroke, STEMI, psychiatric holds, and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
