Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling with balancing to the needs of the unit
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 to 1:5 on both days and nights
• Primary patient population includes adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients on an 18-bed unit
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Oncology experience preferred; strong PCU experience without oncology experience may be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Proficiency with common drips including chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix required
• Must be comfortable titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
• Experience with high-flow respiratory equipment required
• Charting system: Epic
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
• Two days of unit orientation provided
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• BSN not required
