PCU Registered Nurse Job in Omaha, NE

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska. This role focuses on adult oncology and trauma patients in an 18-bed unit where you'll provide skilled nursing care at the progressive care level.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available with unit balance considerations
• $2,427 weekly pay
• 91-day assignment
• Start date: October 26, 2026

Patient Care Details

• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Primary population: adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients
• Float to other Med/Surg and PCU units as needed; float assignments remain at the same care level
• Charting system: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris

Clinical Competencies

• Comfort titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
• Experience with chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
• High-flow respiratory equipment commonly used
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms plus additional lift equipment

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) required
• Oncology experience preferred; strong PCU experience without oncology may be considered
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license required at time of application
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• BSN not required
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
