PCU Registered Nurse Job in Omaha, NE

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Oncology unit (5 North), an 18-bed unit serving adult oncology and trauma PCU patients. You'll work 3x12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) with every other weekend required. Weekly pay is $2,436.48. Start date: September 14, 2026.

Role Details:

• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• May float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
• Self-scheduling available but balanced to unit needs
• Two days of unit orientation provided
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher score during orientation

Clinical Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Oncology experience preferred but strong PCU experience without oncology is acceptable
• Must be comfortable titrating Insulin and Cardizem drips
• Experience with high-flow respiratory equipment required
• Common drips and medications: chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, Protonix
• Charting: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris

Certifications:

• Required: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• Preferred: ONS/ONCC, Chemo certification
• Charge nurse experience not required

Unit Support & Environment:

• Nursing assistants, charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social worker, educator, dietitian
• Hourly rounding and bedside shift report are key patient experience focuses
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas

Requirements: Driver's license required at submittal. 50-mile radius rule applies.
