About this role

CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Oncology unit, located in Omaha, NE. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) at $2,427 weekly.

Unit Overview: The 18-bed PCU Oncology unit (5 North) serves adult oncology and trauma PCU patients. You will care for 4–5 patients per shift with support from nursing assistants, a charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social worker, educator, and dietitian. Hourly rounding and bedside shift report are central to patient care. Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care.

Your Clinical Responsibilities: You will manage common drips and medications including chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix. You must be comfortable titrating insulin and Cardizem drips and experienced with high-flow respiratory equipment. Charting uses Epic; IV pumps are Alaris. Lyko lifts are available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment on the unit.

Requirements: You must hold current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications. A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are accepted. Oncology experience is preferred but not required if you have strong PCU experience. ONS/ONCC and chemo certifications are preferred but not mandatory. Charge nurse experience is not required. A valid driver's license is required at submittal, and the 50-mile radius rule applies.

Onboarding: You will receive two days of unit orientation and must pass an open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher to complete onboarding. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient-care departments.

Schedule: Every other weekend is required. Self-scheduling is available but balanced to unit needs. Assignment begins October 26, 2026.
