RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Day shift ratio 1:5 and night shift ratio 1:6
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float required to sister units: West 2, West 3, and Observation unit
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• NY nursing license required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Care for patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, infectious disease, pre and post operative, endocrine, and CVA
• Unit is a Certified Stroke Center
• PCU or Med Surg/Tele background accepted; PCU trained candidates will be prioritized
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tubes, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, PCA, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, seizure disorders, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, tracheostomy care/management, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
