Telemetry RN Job in Rochester, NY

Join Rochester - Unity Hospital as a Registered Nurse on the Telemetry unit. This 91-day travel assignment offers a stable night schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week at $2,218 weekly pay, starting September 28, 2026.

Role Overview

You will care for adult and geriatric patients on a cardiac unit, managing telemetry monitoring and med-surg clinical responsibilities. Night patient ratios typically run 6–7:1, with potential stretch to 8–10:1 during staff absences. Day and evening ratios are 5:1 (potential 6–7:1 stretch). Every other weekend is required; on-call is not.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias per protocol
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement; manage peripheral lines
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula, face masks, and portable tanks; apply non-invasive airway management
• Collaborate with Rapid Response and Code Teams
• Apply isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• Chart in Epic (hard requirement)
• Float within scope to meet unit needs

Requirements

• Current New York RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 1 year recent RN experience
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience (mandatory)
• Competency in phlebotomy, IV placement, and dysrhythmia management
• Comfort with Rapid Response and Code Teams
• Experience with peripheral line care and non-invasive airway devices
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
• Located more than 75 miles from the facility

Support & Scheduling

PCTs handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living. Interdisciplinary teams—IV services, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries—are available. Block scheduling is accommodated when possible but not guaranteed. Maximum one week of requested time off per contract. First-time travelers are accepted.
