PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Low census hours possible - may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift, taken in hour increments
• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit - fast paced with high patient turnover
• Patient ratio typically 1:4
• Care for patients including post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU) and 2 years IMC/PCU/Tele experience
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips required
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Minimum 1 year recent Epic charting experience required
• Must be able to pass EKG test during the first week of hire
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
