PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Contract end falls on Sunday
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census eligible in hour increments, typically in 4-hour increments; traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry focus
• Patient conditions include stable/weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with primary patients and insulin drips
• Ventilator/trach experience required
• 2+ years of experience required; stepdown, intermediate care, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
