ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work a 3x12 night shift schedule (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) in a high-volume, 101-bed ED serving as a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with typical ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Float across all ED sections as needed to support department operations
• Document patient care using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards and maintain updated patient boards throughout shifts
• Work every other weekend with scheduling flexibility to meet departmental needs
• Wear navy scrubs as part of the required uniform

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in emergency care
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Demonstrated teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work all areas of the ED

Compensation & Timeline

Weekly pay: $1,918.44. Assignment begins October 5, 2026. Block scheduling is not available for this position.
