PCU RN Job in Apache Junction, AZ

Banner Goldfield Medical Center in Apache Junction is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit. This is an 89-day travel assignment on a 3x12 day shift schedule, with a weekly pay rate of $2,547.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in the PCU setting, conducting comprehensive assessments that address physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs. You'll review patient histories, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal findings to physicians and care team members. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, you'll formulate individualized plans of care, including discharge planning, and implement them according to physician orders and organizational standards.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in compliance with professional standards and organizational policies
• Documenting assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Delegating appropriately and providing supervision to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Evaluating patient and family responses to care and adjusting the plan as needed
• Participating in shared leadership, staff education, and facility orientation
• Precepting and mentoring staff when appropriate

Requirements

You must hold a current, valid RN license in Arizona. A minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience is required, with experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months. Current BLS certification is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. You may be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Standard precautions are essential due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids. You may be required to float to a sister site depending on census and staffing needs.
