PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is hiring an RN for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 3×12 night shift position with an 89-day duration, starting November 9, 2026. You will earn $2,541 per week.

As an RN on the PCU, you will:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including discharge planning
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership initiatives and contribute to national nursing quality indicator improvement
• Precept and mentor staff, students, and other personnel as appropriate

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience, with specialty area experience within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may lift up to 75 pounds
• Standard precautions compliance due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids
• Willingness to work varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and float per department guidelines

Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred.
