ICU RN Job in Boise, ID

You will work as an RN in a combined 32-bed ICU at St Lukes Boise Medical Center, providing direct patient care across medical and surgical intensive care populations.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend or half of weekends required
• Holiday shifts based on unit needs
• No on-call or standby requirement
• $2,232 per week
• 182-day assignment starting September 28, 2026

Your Role

You will care for a range of ICU patients including those recovering from CABG, managing CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral brain hemorrhage, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, overdose, respiratory failure, and neuro surgery. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 and 1:2. You will titrate drips including dopamine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, cardene, nitro, neo, vasopressin, diltiazem, insulin, and esmolol. You will monitor and read patient strips using the Spacelabs monitoring system and chart in EPIC.

Unit Support

• Charge nurse available on each unit who does not routinely take assignments
• Resource nurse available on each unit
• Nurse aides at 1:8 ratios; 2 CNAs per unit on days, 1–1.5 per unit on nights
• Hospitalist and intensivist in house at all times
• Respiratory therapy staffed 24/7 with minimum 2 per ICU, including ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP

Requirements & Details

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; experience in similar size or larger ICU preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• 1–2 shift unit orientation provided
• No scrub color or dress code requirement
• May float to other ICUs within the health system or serve as a 1:1 sitter outside the ICU
