ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed, with an attempt to schedule every other weekend
• Holiday shifts required based on unit need
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float - may float to Telemetry unit at a 1:3 ratio or full assignment, as well as to Meridian and Boise ICUs
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided depending on experience
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must be a strong team player
• Titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• Care for patients with diagnoses including Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, GI Bleeds, Strokes, TPA, post-codes, Pneumonia, and post-surgical complications
• Work with ventilated patients; CRRT not required for travelers
• Required to read cardiac monitor strips using Spacelabs monitoring system (no Tele techs on unit)
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, high flow, and BiPAP
• Charge nurse on each shift does not take patients; Administrative Supervisor and Crisis Nurse available on site 24/7
• CNA support of 1 per shift available
• Hospitalist on site 24/7; Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
• Respiratory therapists present in the ICU 24/7
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrubs must be any color as long as they are clean and professional
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
