ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 101-bed Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:45 AM–7:15 PM), earning $1,918.44 weekly. This position begins August 31, 2026.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care across all ED sections with patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. You'll float throughout the department as needed and work every other weekend with scheduling flexibility to support operational demands. Block scheduling is not available.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Preferred: 2+ years in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (over 100,000 visits annually)
• Prior HCA experience preferred
• Teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work all ED areas

Clinical Environment

You'll work with Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors. Documentation occurs in the Cerner electronic health records system. Techs are available for cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage support, and unit clerk duties on day and night shifts.

Standards & Requirements

Follow AIDET patient experience protocols and maintain updated patient boards throughout each visit. Navy scrubs are required.

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) — required within 90 days of hire
