PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Burn ICU/PCU unit with a mixed acuity level department serving ICU/PCU/TELE/M/S level patients
• Patients remain in the unit from admission to discharge regardless of level of care
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity; adult patients only
• 6-bed unit
• 3 weekend shifts required in a 4-week scheduling period
• No on-call requirements
• Float policy requires floating to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU); agency staff float first when needed
• ICU or PCU background required; burn experience preferred but not required
• Must be proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring and hemodynamic drip titration proficiency required
• NIH certification required
• ABLS certification preferred but not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH
• Procedures performed on unit include debridement, dressing changes, line insertion, chest tube insertions and maintenance, and post-operative procedural care
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Equipment used: Alaris IV pumps, Hill-Rom beds and call light system, GE cardiac monitoring equipment, AirStrip for cardiac rhythms, iMobile phones for communication
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top, navy blue or black scrub pants, and scrub jacket required; no t-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed
• Must uphold patient experience standards including courtesy, respect, and adherence to bedside shift report requirements
