PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours must be indicated on submission form
• 16-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float requirements as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience required, inpatient only
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Current RN license required, eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4 on a 32-bed unit
• Equipment used includes chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
• EMR system: EPIC
• Types of patients include post-op CABG/Valve, Thoracotomies, Respiratory Failure, and Chest Pain
• Must be a team player and promote a positive culture
• Scrub color: All black with Mercy logo on top
• Unacceptable attire includes hoodies, jackets without Mercy logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and fake nails
• Night shift orients on day shift; traveler must be available the entire week for orientation
• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
