PCU RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an experienced RN for a 16-week travel assignment in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,106 per week.

Role Overview

You'll provide direct patient care on a 32-bed cardiac stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups. You'll monitor and coordinate care activities with ancillary departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license, eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac stepdown experience (inpatient only)
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS certification

Assignment Details

• Duration: 16 weeks, starting August 3, 2026
• Shift: 3x12 nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; you must be available the entire orientation week

Clinical Environment

You'll work with patients including post-op CABG/valve repairs, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain presentations. Equipment includes chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs. The facility uses EPIC for electronic medical records.

Facility Requirements

• All black scrubs with Mercy logo on top
• Unacceptable attire: hoodies, jackets without Mercy logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and fake nails
