PCU RN Job in Independence, MO

Join Centerpoint Medical Center MO as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting December 14, 2026, offering 4x12 night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) at $2,620 weekly with 48 guaranteed hours preferred.

Unit Overview

You'll work in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit located in the main hospital building. The unit operates primarily with RN-based care. Patient ratios vary by shift: 1:3 during AM hours, 1:4 AM, or 1:4 PM and 1:5 PM when patient care techs are available. Unit secretaries are on-site 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Clinical Responsibilities

This role requires advanced assessment and critical thinking skills, with particular experience managing vasoactive drips. You'll perform typical procedures including central line or PICC line placement and chest tube placements. Daily patient experience expectations include bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and participation in leadership rounds.

Equipment & Systems

• BiPAP and Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas
• Alaris IV pumps and Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Meditech documentation system

Scheduling & Flexibility

Plan for every 3rd weekend rotation and a rotating holiday schedule. Floating to the Telemetry Unit may be required up to once per week.

Requirements & Credentials

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Dress Code

Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms. Black or charcoal grey jackets are permitted.
