PCU RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is hiring a registered nurse for a 91-day travel assignment on a 16-bed Stroke & Brain progressive care unit. You will work a 4x12 day schedule (7 AM–7 PM) earning $2,608 weekly with 48 guaranteed hours approved for travelers.

Role Details

You will provide direct patient care with a 4:1 patient ratio in a specialized stroke and neurology setting. This position requires you to manage cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and basic dysrhythmia interpretation. You must have demonstrated stroke experience and the ability to apply advanced neurological assessment skills in a fast-paced environment.

Required Certifications & Experience

• ACLS and BLS certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification and stroke experience
• Cardiac drip management and telemetry experience
• Neurology care background

Unit Support & Equipment

The unit provides technician support to assist with patient care tasks. You will work with equipment including Welch Allyn vital sign machines, Hoyer and Sarah Steady lifts, telemetry systems, bladder scanners, and Doppler devices. Documentation occurs in the Meditech system.

Scheduling & Flexibility

The schedule requires 3 shifts per week with 3–4 weekend shifts built in. You may be floated to other areas of the hospital where you have demonstrated competency. Dress code is navy blue.
