PCU RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an RN for a 13-week travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), working nights on a cardiac stepdown team. This role offers stability with guaranteed hours and the opportunity to deliver specialized post-operative cardiac care.

Position Overview

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 days per week
• Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours (your preference on submission)
• 13-week assignment beginning July 17, 2026
• 32-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4
• No call requirements; float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Every-other-weekend scheduling required

Clinical Focus

You will care for post-operative CABG and valve patients, thoracotomy cases, respiratory failure, and chest pain presentations. Your experience will center on monitoring chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAP support. A minimum of 1 year of inpatient cardiac stepdown experience is required.

Requirements

• Current RN license with Missouri licensure eligibility
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA (required)
• NIHSS certification (preferred)
• Availability for full-week orientation on day shift prior to night rotation

Facility Details

The unit uses EPIC for charting. Dress code requires all-black scrubs with the facility logo on the top. Hoodies, unbranded jackets, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, and artificial nails are not permitted.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,102.40.
