PCU Registered Nurse Job in Utica, NY

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a 64-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at MVHS Inc., providing direct patient care across adult populations ages 18 and older. This role includes 15 designated neuro beds within the unit.

Schedule and Compensation

• 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• 89-day contract assignment
• $2,912 weekly pay
• Start date: December 14, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll care for patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions including COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular stepdown, and post-operative diagnoses. You'll manage specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems. You'll also work with chronic ventilator patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy.

Requirements

• Current active New York RN license with NURSYS verification
• 2+ years of experience in IMCU or PCU
• Documented travel healthcare experience on resume
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• AHA BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Skills checklist matching PCU specialty requirements

Working Conditions

Floating to other units is required. You'll wear navy blue scrubs. Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed. You'll work within a fast-paced progressive care environment supporting patients requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention.
