PCU RN Job in Albany, NY

Albany Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit on a 3x12 night shift. This 91-day travel assignment begins November 23, 2026, and offers weekly pay of $2,583.

You will care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients in a high-acuity setting. Your patient load will average 3 critical patients, and you must demonstrate competency across both medical and surgical populations. Common diagnoses in this unit include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.

Required Skills and Certifications:

• ACLS certification
• Advanced hemodynamics experience, including pressor titration protocols
• Proficiency with antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, and thrombolytics
• Competency with invasive monitoring: A-line, CVP, and EVD management
• Experience with ortho traction and infection prevention protocols
• Respiratory support expertise: HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patient care
• Epic EMR experience

What to Expect:

You will complete a competency test within 24 hours of submission, sent via email. Navy blue scrubs are required. Nurses with substantial adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU background are preferred for this role.
