Occupational Therapist Job in Alturas, CA

Modoc Medical Center is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team for a 63-day contract starting January 4, 2027. You will work 5 days per week on a day shift (8-hour shifts) at $3,051 per week.

In this role, you will provide occupational therapy services under the direction of department leadership. You will administer therapy agents prescribed by referring physicians and perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations. You will assess patient pain levels and collaborate with physicians to coordinate appropriate interventions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Formulate and implement individualized treatment and teaching plans based on identified patient learning needs
• Coordinate and direct patient care to ensure patient needs are met and hospital policies are followed
• Collaborate with other departments to support patient care and performance improvement activities
• Manage and operate therapy equipment safely and correctly while maintaining department cleanliness and safety
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with current standards and policies
• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity while addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs

Required Qualifications:

• Current California licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in occupational or physical therapy preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
