Telemetry RN Job in Tacoma, WA

St Joseph Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment on a 28-bed Medical Surgical Oncology telemetry unit in Tacoma, Washington. This is a day shift position working 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week on a 12-hour schedule, with every other weekend requirement.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a typical patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips continuously; reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms is essential to this role
• Titrate cardiac drips including Heparin and Cardizem; experience with other cardiac drips is necessary
• Perform and manage respiratory treatments including nebulizers, breathing treatments, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Access central lines and ports, including sterile dressing changes
• Float within the Med Surg/Tele service line in rotation with permanent staff; may float to other Region Two facilities as a first-to-float designee
• Chart in the EPIC system; orientation includes an Epic class for inpatient nurses, with the option to test out
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses, CNAs, respiratory therapists, and permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington state RN license
• BLS certification
• Oncology experience required
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding

Preferred Qualifications

• Chemo certification through an ONS provider card
• Central line and port access experience

Shift Details

• No call or standby requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Professional scrubs required; no t-shirts; closed-toe shoes mandatory

Pay and Duration

Weekly pay: $2,409. Assignment begins November 16, 2026, for 91 days. BSN degree is not required.
