Telemetry RN Job in Tacoma, WA

St Joseph Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Telemetry in Tacoma, WA. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week with an every-other-weekend requirement. The position runs for 91 days, starting November 2, 2026, and pays $2,282 weekly.

Responsibilities and Expectations

• Manage 4–5 patients per shift on the primary Telemetry unit
• Float to Med/Surg and Telemetry divisions across Region Two locations, including Lakewood and Enumclaw, with rate differential applied when floated outside the primary facility
• Titrate critical drips including insulin, heparin, nitro, dobutamine, dopamine, and Cardizem per Med/Surg guidelines
• Support equipment management including CPAP, BiPAP, and tracheostomies (no mechanical ventilators)
• Work with telemetry techs who monitor remotely; you will verify strip readings
• Potentially float to Med/Surg Oncology and ER Transition Unit areas such as CDU and MSW
• May be assigned as a CNA or entrance screener as needed
• Observe holiday requirements, including 1–2 winter holidays
• Maintain on-call or standby availability up to 4 times during the contract
• Take all offered breaks; refusal is not permitted

Environment and Systems

• Charting via EPIC
• No specific scrub color requirement
• Med/Surg units include surgical, long-term low acuity, general medical, cardiac, neuro, and ortho/spine specialties

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Valid RN license
• Current BLS certification
• BSN not required
