Occupational Therapy Assistant Job in Mound City, MO

You will work as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This is a day shift position with no on-call responsibilities and no weekend requirements.

Your responsibilities include:

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders
• Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly
• Report treatment outcomes and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
• Communicate effectively with your supervisor and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy
• Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements
• Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
• Supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
• Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of OTA experience
• Long-term care or rehabilitation experience
• Active COTA license
• Active Missouri State Licensure/Registration
