Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 26-week contract covering Winter Holidays and cold season
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend requirement: Every other Saturday, off every Sunday
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and patient education
• Charting system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, vasoactive drip management, neuro stepdown, non-invasive airway management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, telemetry monitoring, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Special procedures include insulin drips for DKAs and pre/post cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, ablations, and cardioversions
• Special equipment includes Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility; local candidates are not accepted
